Techniques used:

Swedish massages:

The various Swedish massage techniques are designed toimprove your circulation, soothe your musclesand make you feelmore relaxed.

Swedish massages use softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage. This adjustment of pressure makes it an ideal massage for relaxation.

Besides the calming benefits, a Swedish massage is also good for:

  • Easing muscular strainby flushing out toxins
  • Improving circulationby increasing oxygen flow in the blood
  • Helping to keepligaments and tendons supple
  • Reducingemotional and physical stress

Sports massages:

Sports massages use a type of pressure that is often deeper, more intense and focused than a conventional massage. The aim to speed up the athlete's recovery time and help prevent injuries.

Because each sport uses the muscle groups in different ways, a sports massage can be tailored for each individual athlete. They’re often supplemented by other massage therapy styles, includingSwedish massage, deep tissue, trigger pointing and cross-fiber.

A sports massage has many benefits for an athlete, or anyone doing regular exercise. It can:

  • Relax your muscles
  • Fight fatigue
  • Relieve swelling you may have around your joints
  • Boost circulation and the immune system so that the body heals more quickly
  • Improve your flexibility and body strength
  • Make it easier for you to recover more quickly after you've done strenuous exercise
  • Make it less likely you'll get more injuries by getting rid of the tension in the muscles
